Carmel has a background in federally funded Government Authorities including Australia Post and employment services. Carmel has also spent many years in a volunteer capacity in the varied roles of President, Treasurer, Secretary and Events organisation of sporting, performing arts and Community clubs. Her roles as financial auditor, strengths in management administration and having a brother with an intellectual disability lead her to volunteer on the Management Committee of A.C.S.N. Incorporated during 2010 and served as Secretary during early 2011. Since May 2011, Carmel has been the Service Manager of Macarthur Accommodation System. Carmel is responsible for the entire Organisation, including the wellbeing of residents, financial management and is responsible to the Management Committee for all aspects of the business.
Carmel is embracing the change towards individualised funding because it reflects the current individualised practices of Macarthur Accommodation System.
Hazel started off as a swimming teacher for Campbelltown Council for 15 years. She was then employed by Macarthur Accommodation System as a support worker, working in a number of the houses and with all different residents.
Hazel worked as a support worker for 8 years. She then retired.
2 years later she returned as a team leader at Bottlebrush. This house has 24 hour care and houses four of our residents. After this she then took up a position in the office where she still continues to work.
Hazel has a diploma in Disability services and a Certificate IV In mental health.
Jenny has worked in the welfare industry in excess of 30 years. Jenny has two sons with Intellectual disabilities and is passionate about all aspects of the person-centred approach. Jenny has worked in varying roles during her time in the industry and has been with Macarthur Accommodation System for 12 years. While at Macarthur Accommodation System, Jenny has worked in a Support worker role for 9 years and during this time, completed her Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training. Since 2012, Jenny has acted in varying Senior Roles in the Organisation, including Staff Trainer, Work Health and Safety Officer, Senior Support Worker, Acting Assistant Manager and since January 2015, Operations Manager.
Karina Connelly has over thirty years of experience in working in the community sector and holds an Advance Diploma in Community Sector Management accompanied by many other accreditations and qualifications related to social science.
Karina joined Macarthur Accommodation System (MAS) in June 2021 as the Operations Manager and is committed and strives to work collaborative with management, staff and clients to continue to deliver on MAS mission, vision, and values to ensure to promote a culture of service excellence and innovation while maintaining a great focus on relevant outcomes for people living with a disability.
Karina has a strong sense of devotion for the non-profit sector and has a passion and commitment for social justice and a strong interest in assisting and empowering people living with a disability and their families/carers reach their full potential.
